In view of Mr Coates's visit to Kidderminster the week after next, a report of a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce in that town is of interest. The monthly statement of exports and imports showed that out'of a total export of 589,000 square yards, Australia and New Zealand took 265;000 square yards. One of the members (Mr G. R. Woodward) said the figures submitted by .the secretary should draw the attention of the public to the value and importance of Australia and New Zealand as markets for the exports of our carpets. The figures showed that New Zealand was worth more to the carpet trade than the trhole of Europe, which had a high tariff wall against us. The figures, were really- extraordinary.- remembering the population concerned, and that should lie realised by the people of Kidderminster. The ordinary man in the street did not realise how much his-bread and butter were dependent on the trade of these two Dominions,
