AUCKLAND, May 12. The Indian hockey team played an informal match to-day against a tcajn representing the Royal Navy. The Indian team won by 11 goals to 1. Tho Navy team did not combine well, and were.no match for their opponents, even thotigh the latter have just had a long sea voyage, and were strange to local ground conditions. Their backs had little to do, but their forward play was remarkably ■ fine, particularly that of Dhian.Chand, a slightly-built youth, who scored four goals. Captain Cox also scored four goals, and Singara Singh the other three. Excellent play was also shown by the half-backs, Captain Alexander on the left wing being brilliant. The team plays "Waipa' at Te Awamutu to-morrow.
