MELBOURNE MURDER

MELBOURNE, May 12. After a search in five suburb, detectives detained a suspect in connexion with the murder of Lieut.-Colonci Eric? Tulloch. The man refused to make a satisfactory statement concerning his movements on Friday night. He was held on a minor charge pending further enquiries.
He was recently discharged from Pentridge Gaol, where ho served a sentence in connexion with a shooting at St. Kilda in 1021.
PRISONER REMANDED

The man detained by the. polico in connexion with the Tulloch murder, is named Henry Pierce, who was remanded on 8. Charge of vagrancy. In November, 1920, a man Davidson was shot fatally while questioning two men whom he thought were trying to break into a house, and Henry and James Thomas Pierce were sentenced in connexion with the crime. James was sentenced to twelve, and Henry to six years-' imprisonment. It is stated that the poliee traced Henry through certain prison-made doth,. tt. MO" '"«* tigations. ~—- —— ■
