ANNUAL MEETING. (SPECIAL TO "THE PRESB ") GBEYMOUTH, April 6. The Ross annual sports meeting was held on the Recreation Ground to-day in beautiful weather and before a large attendance. The fields were good and the running track was in fair order. The following were the results: Maiden Foot Race—First heat: Murtha 1, Monk 2. Second heat: Freatus 1, Kjtchingham 2. Final: Freatus and Murtha deadbeat 1. Maiden Chop: A. Johnston 1, Eibbs 2, Gugich 3. Dash Handicap, 75yds—First heat: M. Jamieeon (ecr) and E. Jones (6jyds) deadheat 1. Second heat: H. Wells (2Jyds) 1, C. Lamont (scr) 2 Third heat: J. W~. Walls (Uyds) 1, E. Kitchingham (64yds) 2. Final: Wells 1, Jamieson 3, Jones 3. A close finish. Upright Chop: T. Bannister (sscc) 1, J. Bannister (scr) 2, D. Bannister (2sec) 3. Sheffield Handicap. 120yds—First heat: H. Well* (4yds) 1, J. W. Walls (2ydß) 2. Second heat: F. McEnaney (Byds) 1, M. Jamieson (scr) 2. Third heat: C. Lamont (scr), Monk (lOvds), and Kirwan.(syds) dead-heat 2. Final: Walls 1, Wells 2. McEnaney 3. Won by half a yard. Wells stumbled five yarda from the tape.
