To show its sinceritv in this respect the following resolution was passed unanimously at a caucus meeting of the Party: That the National Party, whether it does or does not secure a complete majority over other parties at the General Election, will do its utmost to bring into one party all tho9e who supjTit the formation of an efficient, stable National Government composed of the best brains and the most suitable men in Parliament, who place national interests before those of party, and favour giving effect to a sound forward national policy for the development of the country's resources and the progress and prosperity of its people.

"This," said Mr Forbes, "is in accord with our action in Parliament this session, when we' honestly tried to straighten out the present political tangle."
