Macaulay took 3 wickets for 83 and Haig- 4 for 39. Thornton's team lost three for 38. At Folkestone in the Gentlemen versus Players match Gentlemen, in the first innings made 217 (Livock 65). Parkes took 5 wickets for 32. (beuter's telegrams.) Players made 480 for 3 wickete (Hendren 129, Hobbs 266, not out, including two sixes, his highest ecore in first-class cricket, his previous best being 226 against Notte at the Oval in 1914). Gentlemen in the second innings made 235 (Tennyson 79, Carr 21, Gilligan not out 21). Geary took 3 for 53 and Tate 3 for 62. The ma-tch was drawn. At Blackpool, the English eleven versus Lancashire, England made 130 for i wickets (G. Gunn not out 76).
