ONE RETURNS TO PORT. LIFEBOAT AND CREW DISAPPEAR. (bt cabl*—rsxss associatios —cornuMT.) (ACSTIALIA3 AMD X.X. CASH AMO£IATIO*J lIOBART. September 4. The Kekerangu arrived at Hobart under her own steam, accompanied by the YTaikawa. Captain Molyocux, of the Kckeraago, states that the ship had a narrow escape from total wreck. The Kanna is standing by the Karamu, which is HOC yards from th® beach and in grave danger. The last report from the Kanna stated that a lifeboat full of men had pat off from the Karamu, apparently in an attempt to get to the shore. The boat, after a few minutes, was not seeu again. The Kekerangu men arc of the opiuion that no boat conid reach land in the heavy surf raging at South-west Cape. It is feared the boat and erew wen lost. The Kanna is too big and the weather too bad to approach the Karamu. KARAMU'S CREW SAFE. MEN IN BOAT PICKED UP. , (ACSTBALIAX ASD K.I. CABLB ASSOCIATION.) (Received September 4th, S.o p.m.) HOBART, September 4. The latest report states that fifteen of the crew of the Karamu were taken aboard the Kanna, returning to Hobart. The remaining eleven, who yesterday * left the Karamu, and who were feared to be drowned, were picked up after knocking about in the rough sea 'many hours.
