SHIPPING NOTES. The Wootton is expected to-day from Wellington, and is to sail on Monday on the roturn trip. The Wairau should bo here to-morrow afternoon from Blenheim. She is to sail on the return trip on Monday, taking general cargo. The Opihi is due to-morrow from Timaru, and loads on Monday for Kelson and New Plymouth. The Kairanga is now due on Tuesday from Timaru. Xlie Wanaka is expected to-morrow from Dunedin to load for Auckland. The Kahika, due from Timaru to-morrow, loads on Monday for Napier and Gisborne. Tho Katoa is now due on Tuesday from the south to> load for Auckland; The Breeze should he hero tomorrow from Timaru. She loads on Monday for Wellington and Wan^anui. The Calm is due on Tuesday from Wellington, and is to sail in the afternoon for Bluff, Dunedin, and Timaru. The Union Company advises that tho Knrow is to be engaged ip the East Coast service in conjunction with the Katoa, Wingatui, and W»naka. The Kurow iB expected to leave Auckland eariy next we?k for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. Mr 0. Graham has signed off the Kennedy's urticles as engineer, and has been replaced by Mr C. Naismith. The Shaw-SaviU liner Waimana left Gisborne on Wednesday night for Auckland to complete loading. The vessel is expected to clear Auckland on Monday for New York, Boston, and London. The Shaw-Savill liner Maiakana,' now discharging Liverpool cargo at Auckland, is commanded by Captain H. P. Tbiirstcm. To put ont the remainder of tho New Yorlc merchandise the A. and A. Line steamer City of Bombay left Wellington at 4 o'clock yesterday after peon for LytteUou, Dunedin, and New Plymouth. The Federal S.N. Company has been advised of the departure of the Otaki from Liverpool on Saturday with general .cargo for digcharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel should reach Auckland on October 10th, and Wellington about a week later.

The Kakapo arrived yesterday morning from Dunedin, aid sailed last night with cargo for Westport and Groymouth. The Kairanga was another arrival yesterday morning, and is unloading Australian hardwood poles. She will sail to-day for Lyttelton. The Wanaka which arrived from Oamaru yesterday, will be dispatched to-day for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Union Co. expect the Opihi from Oamaru to-day, to pick up cargo for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth, via Lyttelton. The Breeze is due to-day to load for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Storm is expected on Tuesday, and will take in general produce for the same ports. The Kahika it now timed to arrive from Oamaru on Monday night, and is to load Napier and Gißborne cargo, sailing via Lyttelton. The Westport Coal Company's collier Canopns is due from Lyttelton on Tuesday to discharge coal, and will subsequently load and sail for westport.
