The French reply to the British. Noto has been received in London. It promises sympathetic consideration, lieplies from the other five nations, to which tho circular Note waa sent, have not yet been received. It is possible that tho discussions by tho Anglo-French Treasuries will be resumed, but a general debts conference is unlikely. (ArSTItALIAS AND X.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATIOK.) Briand has replied to Mr Chamberlain's Note on the subject of France's debts to England, stating that the French Government is willing to resume as soon as possible negotiations Tviili Franco-Buitiah experts, wihjch. were broken off when M. Herriot fell. Franco's view was that tho amount of tho debt was only ascertainable after a prolonged detailed discussion. [A messago from Paris on July Ist stated that, according to tho Havas Agency, tho British Government lias sent another memorandum to v arious debtor States, declaring tho British, view regarding the settlement of interAllied debts. Concerning France, tho Note says, in effect, that if France signs an agreement "with the i States to pay part of .her debt, then Britain will expect proportional payment of the sum.France owes her.]
