MONTHLY MEETING. Tho monthlv meeting'of the! Le Bon's Koad Board was held 011 Saturday. Present: MeSsrs W. Dalglish. (chairman), 'G. Mould, A. A. McPliail. J. Gurncy, and C. Frciderickson, secretary. The ranger (Mr J. K. Grnc'm) wrnt° giving his reasons why he. did not tako out a summons against. n resident for grazing roads, it was decided to get legal advico in the matter. .... . . . Akaroa, -wrote t|iat ail ovci'4«ft up to i'7oo had been approved by- tho head olfioo. . • The Akaroa County Council, stated tnnt m reference to the Board's request lo r'ftngo the Summit road abovo the Bay, they would, prefer not to accede to tho roqucst as a new ranker had been appointed., and the,v hoped the Summit road would now be kept free from stock.. ... Mr Gurncy gave notice to move at the next meeting of the Board that a general rato of 9-16 d in the £■ be made and levied on the capital value of the Lo Bon's Kond District. The Board approved tire chairman's action in giving permission to Mr B. Barker to take a slip from tho Jetty road t3 fill the approach to his gate. It was resolved to metal the approach used by the mail cars to the Post Office. The' members of the Board dccidfd to meet cn Laverick's road and Cross road wifh the view of having some improvements r.iade. The foreman reported that since the last meeting several slips had been cleared from the Jetty road, and several • culverts had been cleared and somo renew*!. _ The big culvert at Partington's gate rqeuired renewing. The stringers which had • been washed into T. Mcintosh's paddock I had been pulled on to the road and-;some .larrali logs in Partington's, paddock will be taken out with the dray when convenient.
