ORIGIN OF 'QUAKE

Despite renewed shocks, reconstruction continues apatfe at Santa Barbara. The engineers have discovered the fault where the 'quake originated, four miles inshore from the city. It runs directly underneath the famous Santa Barbara Spanish. Catholic Mission, which was completely wrecked in 1812. It appears that Monday's 'quake followed almost the same fissure of earth and rock, dropping away towards the sea four feet.
The citizens of San Francisco have taken out i' 15,000.000 earthquake insurance since the Santa Barbara disaster.
Bogota reports a violent eruption of the volcano Galeras. Flmes are issuing from the crater and largo quantities of rocks and ashes cover the surrounding country. It is feared that the towns of La Florida and Sonsaca arc destroyed.
