A meeting of representatives of Holy Trinity Church and the Borough Council was hold at the Council Chambers last evening to make arrangements for the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the arrival at Lyttelton of the First Four Ships. The Mayor (Mr F. E. Sutton) presided. It was reported that the Canterbury Early Colonists' Association had agreed to the celebrations being held at Lyttelton. It was decided to hold a Celebration Service at Holy Trinity Church on the evening Of Sunday, December luth, to which all early colonists would be invited. On Wednesday, December 10th, members of the Early Colonists' Association would leave Christchurch by the 4.5 p.m. train and on arrival at Lyttelton a procession would be held from the Railway Station, which is on the spot of the actual landing of the pilgrims, to some hall to bo arranged for, where they would be entertained at tea. The tea will be provided by ladies of Lyttelton, and a ladies' committee is to be formed to make the necessary arrangements. The Mayor, the Rev. A. J. Petrie and Mr L. Graham were appointed a deputation to wait on the Early Colonists' Association for the purpose of completing arrangements for the celebrations.

The following were appointed a Jubliee Celebration Committee: —The Mayor (Mr F. E. Sutton), Mesdames A. J. Petrie, .7. Stokes, and Shepheard, the Vicar of Holy Trinitv (the Rev. A. J. Petrie), Messrs G. 8. Morris, L. Graham, W. Wales, W. Newton, and M. J. Miller.
