FORTHCOMING PERFORMANCE. Tit aid of the funds o; the Xur*n Maude District Xursing Association and the Phini;et Society, Unlimited Charities will present n, new and modernised version ot "The Sleeping Beauty" at the Thea'tro IJoyal for a season to commence on July 18th. Already the pantomime Ivaa teen at aged with sv.cc-esa, Unlimited Charities recently concluding a season in Timaru, when two evening performances and a, matinee wero instrumental in securing £3OO for the orphanages of .South Canterbury. Crowded houses greeted tb/s pantomime, the. audiences being extremely enthusiastic. In every respect "Tho Sleeping Beauty" is a, mucli moro ambitions production than the other two successful ventures of the Society, "Bluebell in Fairyland" and "Jack and the Beanstalk." No fewer than ]OO performers are in the cast. The action of the pine* commences comewhere near tho time of tho Knights of the Round Table, and it sweeps through the centuries, in a manner which giv«s gTeafc scope for effects, to tho present da.y. The principal boy. is Miss jsma Watts. ";ho scored well in Timarn, and Ifi'sa Audrey Cracroft Wilson, who always is a- favourite, is tho principal girl. The Misses Betty Cotterill. Edna Marsh, 'Ruby JticliaHs, It bona, Vaugha.n. Thelma Thompson, and FTelen Rhodes, Captain Tahu Rhodes, and" Messrs F. McDonald, E. J. O. Collins, h. K. Vernazoni, W. Eocles,' Guy Cott«rill, Neville McD. Vincent, Bernard JJ-ennell. and Fred. Keado "Wauchop aro other well-known performers. Miss Xgaio Marsh again, is the producer, Mias Madeline Yyner is the ballet mistress, and Miss Gwen K. M,crrett is the author. The musical director is Mr Arthur Gordon. Beforo tho season there will bo a procession and a street sale of tickets.
