Senator Pearce (Minister for Home :md Territories) introduced a BUI in the Senate providing for the formation of a Commission to control tropical Australia north of ihe twentieth parallel.

It is proposed to drop the name Northern Territory and adopt Northern Australia, which will ho divided into two States, Northern and Central. The latter will be administered separably.
