SHIPPING NOTES. After three hours' work ou the wharves yesterday morning heavy rain came on and compelled a cessation until the after;ioon. The afternoon was showery and the work could only be carried on intermittently. The departure of. all the vessels was postponed until to-day.

The. Orepuki changed articles at Lyttelton yesterday. She is to complete londin;; here to-day for Nelson, Westpovt, and Greymouth. The Breeze should get. away this afternoon with cargo for Wellington and Wanganui.

The Cygnet lias been delayed at Nelson by the bad weather, and it is doubtful if she will be here in time to be dispatched for Kaikoura nnd Nelson bofore Monday nignt. The AVairnu and the Wooton should be dispatched to-day for Blenheim and Wellington respectively. The Opua is due on Sunday from Timaru', She loads on Monday for Nelson, Wescport, and Clreymouth. The Waikouaili should sail this afternoon for Timarn and Sydney.

The Wingatui is at present timed to sail (his evening with cargo for Auckland. She will call at Wellington. The Karetu is to sail this afternoo-i for Dunedin, Bluff, and Melbourne. Cable advice has been received that the C. and I). Line steamer Port Wellington arrived at London on Sunday morning from Wellington after a good run of ."7i days. The vessel left Wellington on May JTst. . The Federal S.X. Company has' received advice that the Leitrim sailed from Liverpool on Juno 27tli with, general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lvttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. The vessel "is due at Auckland on August Bth and at Wellington about ten days later.
