NOTES.
Mr G. L. Bull, the contractor for the new Marist Bros.' School at the corner of Moorhouse Avenue and Barbadoes street is making good progress with the work. The first floor joists will soon be placed in position, and on the ioiver floor classrooms the doors will be so situated as to convert the rooms into semi-open-air spaces. The Aranui Public Hall is now nearing completion and the roof is in position. The work in connexion with the erection of the new Bichmond School aas almost reached the stage of completion, and the building should soon be ready for occupation. The Peace Memorial Hall at North Beach is practically finished, and the contractor, Mr G. L. Bull, states that it will be ready for opening on the 18th inst. tho building is a twostorey brick and concrete structure with an asbestos rOof. Tho lower portion, which will be. open, will bo fitted with penny-in-the-slot gas meters for tho use of tho public.
Mr A. I?. Entriean, engineer of Forest Products, has been invited to address members of the Christcburch 'Builders' Association on the kiln-drying of timber, at the August meeting of tho Association. Messrs Hart and Recso are inviting tenders until 4 p.m. on 14th inst.. for additions to Messrs Reese Bros.' depot stores at Addington. ' Tenders are being invited by Mr R. Lovell-Smith, until Wednesday, July Bth, for tbo erection of extensive additions to Shillito's buildings in Armagh street. Tenders will close at A p.m. on Monday with Messrs Ellis and Hall for the erection of a two-storey wooden house in Brown's road, St. Albans. The National Bank of X<nv ZeaJand, Ltd., intend to alter their premises at the corner of Hereford and Manchester streets. Tenders for the work will .close with Messrs J. S. and M. J. Guthrie, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 14th mst.
