HOCKEY.

CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. The Management Committee of tho Canterbury Hockey Association met last evening. Present: Messrs H. W. Rogers (chairman), 11. R. Sampson, W. 8011, C. Franklin, W. Grammcr, J. Hill, P. Hill, H. Lamb, C. Bellamy. L. Cummings, R. Cummings, P. Campbell, L. L. Smith and Preston. An apology for absenee was received from Mr \V. Williamson. Messrs H. Rogers and P. Campbell were appointed a sub-committee to draft' rules governing the Grey Shield and report at next meeting. Tho Canterbury Rugby Union wrote agreeing to assist the Hockey Association with tho arrangements for playing tho match agaiust the Australians at- Lancaster Park. It was decided to send a letter of appreciation to tho Rugby Union for their courtesy. The fine imposed on the Rangiora Club ,fov tho non-forwarding of match returns was remitted, the club's explanation being 'accepted. The Wellington Association's request for information regarding accommodation reci'.iivod for tournament week was held over pending a report from the selector. The Wellington Public Schools' Association forwarded an invitation for a primary schools' team to play on August Bth. The invitation was declined on account of tho unsuitability of the date and also owing to tho probability of the primary schools' team visiting Dunedin. ! The Referees' Association nominated the following referees for the representative matches:—Test match. Mr C. Bellamy; Canterbury v. Australia, Messrs C. Bellamy, R. Gracie, and L. L. Smith. On account of the wet state of the grounds it was decided to postpone all primary schools' matches set down for next Saturday. Tho following transfers of matches frero made on tho recommendation of the Competitions Committee:—Senior grade: Technical v. Selwyn A, from Lancaster Park to Ensor's road (Messrs 0. Bellamy and D. Hogg) • Selwyn B v. Sydenham, from Sydenham Park to Lancaster Park (Mr L. L. Smith). Junior grade: Trinity v. Wesley, from Ensor's road •o Sydenham Park (Mr H. Luxlon).
