The Australian Press Association's special correspondent at Dublin reports that enormous crowds welcomed Dr. Mannix, Archbishop of Melbourne, on hi 3 arrival at that city to-night. Dr. Mannis: crossed in a mail boat, via Holyhead, but did not travel to Dublin until two hours later, first dining aboard the steamer. Mr de Yalera, Count Phmkett. and several cthor prominent Republicans met Dr. Mannis at Kingstown. On his arrival in Dublin Dr. Mannix was presented with an address from the Dublin Corporation, also one from the Mayor and County Council.
As Dr. Mannix proceeded to the hotel he was nearly mobbed by enthusiastic crowds. He refused to make, any statement, but Father May, one of his secretaries, said that Dr. Mannix •would feel the pulse of the country during the next six weeks, after which he might make a statement regarding his views.
Dr. Mannix's arrival was totally ignored both by the Free State Government and official representatives of the Roman Catholic Church.
