THE PURPLE BEECH is recognised to be one of the most highly decorative trees in Nature. No garden, of fair size, can claim 1o be fully furnished unless it contains one or more specimens of this beautiful foliaged ' tree. The leaves are deep purple in colour, and extremely deep in tone in spring when breaking into growth. It makes a handsome lawn specimen, and bhould be set out to enable it to display its glory to the full when fully grown. It is most difficult to procure, and very limited in supply, and almost unprocurable. We however, imported a number of specimens' five or six years ago, and have established them.
