. -4PRISONER'S DEATH. The adjourned inquest on the body of JErnest Stoddart', a labourer, aged (i 9 years, who died in the- PapaioaPrison on Monday morning, was concluded by Mr Wyrern Wilson, District Coroner, yesterday. Stoddart, who was imprisoned in May, had no ilxed place of abode. . "I saw Stoddart on May 4th, after his admission tp the Prison," said Br. C. L., Ned will, prison surgeon. "hie appeared to be healthy except for his age. On examination of his heart I found it weaE and irregular with its arteries somewhat thickened. He was not fit for hard labour. On admission he was in a filthy state and all his clothes had to be ; destroyed. He appeared to have died in his sleet). I think the cause of death was heart failure." . , ■ The Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony. (PEESS ASSOCIATION- TELEGBAUS.) WELLINGTON, June 30. On Lambton quay to-night' a tramcar and motor-cycle collided. The cyclist, Thomas Pace, was seriously but not dangerously injured.
