SEVERE EARTHQUAKES.

IN FOUR AMERICAN STATES. (it cable— press ASSOCIATION— COrrRIGHT.) (reuteb's telegrams.) VANCOUVER, June 28. A message from Billings, Montana, states that portions of the States of Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and Washington, representing the nation's playground, were harassed by earthquakes for four hours on Saturday night. No fatalities have been reported, but traffic on one of the transcontinental railways was suspended by an avalanche brought down by the 'quakes. A tunnel also collapsed. Thousands of people rushed panicstricken into the streets of the different cities at the first tremor. Half a dozen buildings were demolished.
