NO RUPTURE WITH
GOVERNMENT
(at cable—press association—coptriqut.) ("the rwxs.'') LONDON, June 26. The Paris correspondent of "Tho Times" states that the final result of the Socialist Party's referendum to decide whether or not it should continue to support the Government left tho party evenly divided. Three motions wore submitted. The first, favouring rupture, scored 62 votes, and the other two, the terms of which did not commit tho party to a definite rupture, obtained 61. GOVERNMENT BILL PASSES ADOPTED WITH MODIFICATIONS (renter's telegrams.) (Received June 28th, 5.5 p.m) PARIS, Juno 20. The Finance Committee of the Chamber, after hearing 211. Caillaux, rejected tho Socialists' proposal for a capital levy by 21 to 14 votes, and adopted the Government Bill, with modifications. The Socialists decided to maintain the demand in the Chamber for a capital levy.
THE FINANCE BILL.
SOCIALIST AMENDMENT REJECTED. (reuteb's telegrams.) (Received Juno 27th, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, June 27. The Chamber is still sitting this morning. The first clause of the Finance Bill was passed, the Socialist amendment being rejected by 340 rotes to 210. The Communist amendment was also defeated • by 421 votes to 29, M. Painleve then declaring that the question was one of confidence. The Chamber agreed to increase the six milliards note issue by 328 votes-to 118, most Socialists abstaining from voting. The Senato Finance Committee by 9 votes to 5, with eleven abstentions, adopted M. C'aillaux's proposals. M. CAILLAUX'S PROPOSALS ADOPTED. (reutee's teleqbams.) (Received Juno 27th, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, June 27. The Chamber passed the whole of M. Caillaux's proposal by 330 votes to 31. Tho iSenato passed the. Government's financial Bills by 273 votes to 11.
