BECKENHAM SCHOOL PICNIC FUND.
A verv successful concert was held in the Baptist Schoolroom, Colombo street south, on Saturday evening. It- was arranged by the Beckenham School Committee to raise funds for the annual picnic. The hall was packed, and Beckenhata residents ivere treated to an excellent programme, which was under the direction of Mr H. Sweney. The artists who contributed to such a delightful evening were as follows:—Misses M. Johns and D. Johnston (piano duet), Miss Freda Judkins (vocal solo). Miss Jean Murehie (recitation), Miss M. Penhnlliiriack (humorous monologue), Mr A. A. Johnson (recitation), Mr Joll (vocal solo), Miss E. Penhalluriack (recitation). Master J. Wicks (song), Miss Jean Murehie (character sketch). Miss Audrey Thompson (vocal solo), Mr Jack Loster and party (sketch). Miss M. Johns (vocal solo). Miss Jean Heard and Master" M. Averis (piano duet), Miss H. McCaughern (recitation). Miss K. Chappie (vocal solo), Misses A. Thompson and F. Judkins (vocal duet). Mr Judkins was the accompanist. All the items were received with enthusiasm. On behalf of the School Committee, Mr J. M. Heath (chairman) thanked Mr Sweney and the performers.
