CANTERBURY CLUB. ANNUAL; MEETING. .''".. The forty-second annual meeting of - the Canterbury Bowling Club was'held .in the Club's pavilion on • Saturday night. . The president, Mr W.-H.Hagger, occupied the chair.. The report and balance-sheet, a resume of which has' already been".published, were adopted. The chairman, iu referring to the financial position of the Club, said that the balance of £9B 5s .8d Was exceedingly ; satisfactory, aud they were now iu a better position than they had ever been.'••- The thanks of the Club were due to Messrs W. B. Maynard and T. S. Robinson, who had spent their evenings throughout the season arranging card tourneys, etc. The satisfactory'position of the Club was largely due. to their efforts. Angus; assistant selector, Mr T. S. Robinson. The meeting discussed the matter of the appointment of a selector, and on the motion of Mr W. H. Hagger it was decided to appoint an assistant: selector as well as the selector. .... A letter was received from the Sydenham Bowling Club congratulating the Canterbury Club on its rink-winning the Champion of Champions competition. The letter-was received. A letter was received from the Canterbury Bowling Centre- asking the Club to consider the matter of the form of next season's competitions. Mr Macdonald stated that in his opinion the next season's competitions should be an eight-rink competition. It-was decided to instruct the Club's delegate on the Centre to vote for the reversion to the pennant 1 class "of competition which had been held prior to last season. It was decided to elect Mr J. H. Maynard a life member of the Club. On the motion of Mr R..Howarth it was decided to alter the rales regulating Saturday afternoon play so that in future teams bese'.ected on a classification basis. The -various trophies won during the season were presented by the new president. It was decided to hold, the Club competi- ' tions next season on'the same system as last j year. ' I
