Maclean (LabournSocialist M.P. for Goran) asked the Home Secretary whether he gave his permission to Sir Basil Thomson to use official documents in Scotland Yard as the basis of his article in "English Life," and, if not. whether he proposed to lake any action in the matter. Mr G. Locker-Lamp-son (Under-Secretary. . Home Office) said the answer to the first part of the question was in the negative. If the Homo Secretary had any evidence that official documents had been used as the basis of this article he /would; certainly consider the possibility of taking action, as he most strongly deprecated publications of this nature. .
