CASUALTIES.
SUDDEN DEATH. Eetsy Forrester, a married woman, aged 60.years, was found dead in bed at her residence, 9 Burns street, Sydenham, yesterday. An inquest was held yesterday afternoon by Mr Wyvern -Wilson, Coroner. Robert Forrester, husband of the deceased, stated-that his wifo liad felt pains in tho side. On Thursday nigat she seemed in normal health, but when ho went into her room yesterday morning he found that she was dead. Mary Owler, a married daughter, who had slept, with her mother on Thursday night, said she had given no disturbing signs during the night. Witness was awakened by her father in the morning and she then : discovered that her mother was dead: Previously hor mother had complained of pains inthe side and shortness of breath! Dr. D. IS. Currio said tho cause of death was heart failure, due to degeneration of tho heart and muscles. The Coroner brought in a. verdict in accordance with tho medical testimonv.
An elderly man named John. Kennedy, of 66 Salisbury 6treet, was in a rignt-ot-way (belonging to Leonard Holling, of 54 Salisbury street, last night, when the latter backed his car out of his shed and down the right-of-way. He felt a bump and found-that Kennedy had been run over. It is stated that the injured man had got into the drive by mistake. He suffered cuts about the head and fractured ribs, and was taken to tho Hospital by Constable Murphy. A man named William Mehlhopt was found hanging at Tai. Tapu on Thursday. An inquest for purposes of identification was held at Tai Tapu ..last night..:

THAMES, June 26. Robert Owen Williams, aged 30, who met with an accident.at Ngatea three weeks \ «jo by colliding with a dray while riding a motor-cycle, 'died, in tho Thames Hospital thie morning. Ho was low in health when the accident.occurred, and was unable to stand the shock of a compound fracture, of the thigh. Harry Malone, eub-contr actor for the Kauri Timber Company, was found iby one of his mates with his : head blown off by gelignite. He left his camp, which is ahout: twenty miles from Thames, as usual this morning, and was found dead later. The body is being carried over rough country' for some miles to the company's .. railhead, eu route to Thames, where an inquest will be held.
