RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. Conditions for training operations at Kic-rart-on yesterday were not too pleasant, and for iho'grenter part of the morning the, fog which enveloped the course made accurate timing difficult. Interest centred principally on the work of the horses racing ac Ashbnrton, and all fast work was done on the No. 7 grass. Fevino ran an easy five furlongs, takiug 1m (i f!-ss. Red Kviss, with Solfello as a companion over the first four, ran seven furlongs comfortably in lm Jios. Barn Owl worked nicely over six furlongs, completing tic journey in lm 17 3-ss. There was nothing between Rich Prize and Rivalry at the end of five furlongs in lm 4 3-ss.

Retrospect alone took lm 19s while running six furlongs. Clareina and His Majesty brushed over three furlongs pleasingly in 38s. Winkle's Rebel took 56s to get through a run over four furlongs. Boadicea was allotted strong work, and moved freely.

Serotina "was not hurried in a run over haii a mile. Fresh Breeze and Ycspcrus sprinted three furlongs, similar work being done by Centrepiece and Tarn Glen in company. Castellan and Royal Mac finished together after covering six furlonga in lm 19 J!-ss. tiolferite had the better of Miss Minerva in a live furlongs sprint, which took -lm Cnnrlatan was going as well as Kukunie at the end of seven furlongs, run in lm ;!7s. Kilbirnie ran half a mile in 545, Goldtown shortly after taking a little longer to gut through a similar task. Voutc had a slight advantage over Tenterfield, after running six furlongs in lmin 20 2-ss. Lava and The Cheat covered the same ground at a comfortable pace. Ophir and Kn Route finished on terms in a six furlong gallop, taking lm 20s. Granuale was in front of Lord Ashlea and Jarretiere at the end of six furlongs in lm 225. Chickwneat was going better than Gay Bird at the end of a similar journey iu lm 21s.
