Her passengers were ablo to connect with the Invercargill express. The Kamo arrives this mornrog from and loads for Napier and Gisborne. 'She sails this afternoon via Wellington. ' The ferry steamer Maori docks to-day for gleaning and painting. . She Is to sail at the usual time this evening. * Tho Karetu should be here to-morrow from Sydney, via Wellington. She is to dis--charge Sydney cargo, and sails to-niorrow for Dunedin and Bluff and Sydney. -. Tho Waikouaiti is expected this morning 'froic Dunedin. The harbour launch advised the captain to anchor, but the 'vessel came on and ran aground. She was towed off in half an hour by the dredge. At present she is anchorod off port awaiting borthing. SCHOONER IN CYCLONE. (PSESS ASSOCIATION 7ZhZGS.iX.) GISBORNE. June 24. The schoonor Elsie Mary reports that during her 14 days' passage from Auckland she encountered a cyclone of tremendous force. Huge waves swept the vessel and threatened to engulf her, but shelter was eventually obtained, at East Cape.

The Canopus arrived yesterday from Lyttel ton to- discharge . coal, and sailed last night for Westport. The Kamo sailed yesterday with cargo for Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne, and the Opihl, which was also in port, got away last night for Lyttelton and Westport. The Calm arrived yesterday from Oamaru, and sailed for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Gale will load here to-mor-row for the same ports, and the Breeze on Saturday. The Wanaka is due from Oamaru to-mor-row, loading for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Tho Pakeha should arrive from Wellington on Saturday for Homeward loading under the auspices of the N.M and A. Company. She will got away on Monday for Lyttelton.
