The senior Rugby competition has this year come to a position unequalled since football started in Christchurch. Four teams are in tho lead, and all have good chances of carrying off tho premiership, while, on the other hand, it would bo no surprise if any one of these teams was beaten by one of the lower clubs. Hence each of tho remaining matches will create intense excitement, and tho crowds at Lancaster Park will far surpass those of other years. This should be the case when Llnwood line out to try conclusions with Christchurch on Saturday. So far this season Linwood have been playing fine, open football, while Christchurch brought themselves to a leading position by defeating Morivalo last Saturday. Whichever team is in tho load at the final whistlo spectators may bo assured of a bright and breezy display of sparkling Rugby at its best. The 'A r arsity v. Albion game on the south ground should also be a real good display, as should Old Boys v. North Canterbury, at Rangiora, since the latter team distinguished themselves by defeating Linwood last week. Other matchoß are 'Varsity v. Merivale (eenior B), on tho west ground, and Technical v. Riccarton (senior l>), and Albion v. 'Varsity (juniors), at the Show Grounds. TEAMS FOR SATURDAY.
