Price, Christchureh (Bst) —Four two minute rounds.—Although Ledgard lied tho advanUga of height and reach ho did not fight with tho earn© determination as Price, who did most of tho loading throughout the . tout, though Bom© of his blows went astray. Jidgard connected with seme lefts, but lie Appeared to tako things too easily. Kaiapot (9st slb) Six two minute ; lotipds.—Emerson had the better of tho first .xmmd and also o? tho second, hut in tho tßird Logan administered some lienvv -punShment which appeared to shake Emerson, however, fought gamely. Thero ware exciting exchanges- in the fourth round, "' Both' getting' home with good blows, but tho ' advantage was to Logan. Emerson made the pace a "cracker" at the start of tho fifth round, but he tir*d visibly bofnro the end of this round. Logan had the ad'.vantago in this last round, Emerson appearing very tiredi indeed. The decision went to Logan, but Emers-on, who is only fourteen, was warmly applauded for the plucky manner in which lio stood tip to his more experienced opponent.

G. Popoclt. Gardiner, Christchuicli (list 41b)—-Six two minute' round-s.-—ln_ the first round Pocock stowed his superiority and ho had the better of round, administering «ome heavy xmnishment. Gardiner appeared somewhat '"groggy" a,t the end of the first round, Gardiner did better ip the second and third rounds, but he showed a. liking for in-flght-ing, and there was a good , deal „of clinching; Pocook was atrgTessivei in lb* fourth and fifth rounds. Carey, Christchurch (9et 6lb) —Sis two jninute rounds.—This was one of the moat f.-illing bouts of tho evening. Carey, who la a whirlwind type of fighter, sailed into it frpm the etart, but Jftfrgens appeared quite cjtpijjle o>f absorbing all the punishment that came his way and half-way through tho bout he e«med fresher than Cafcy; ' TEo fourth and fifth rounds were willing ones, both IxHters getting home with telling blows. Jaggers was the cooler of fhe two. Thero also some good exchanges in the last round. Carey got the decision.

He hatl the best oi tho opening rounds, but Izzard improved in tho fourth and fifth, and there was not muoh > in tl?e next two, ' In the eighth round Mason floored lezard, smashing Jus left jaw. There was a terrific •uproar. Maaon, thinking that Izzard_ had taken the full count, went to assist him to rise, but tlie referee told them to boi on. ' Mason attacked fiercely and; floored his staggering opponent eeveral times. ."When the hell went for the ninth Izzard rmiined seated in the corner and tho referee awarded tho fight to Maaon. * L^ter. It is understood that although Izzard was - ohvioueiy bea-ten the referee awarded the < - fight to Mason on tho ground that Izzard's . tteonds remained in the ijng .after the gong. • - Pandemonium ensued and women fainted.
