CASUALTIES.
An employee of the Post and Telegraph Department, 11. Wilson, was overcome by gas fumes while working on the unuerground cables near the Bank of New Zealand corner yesterday morning. He was brought to the surface and recovered in a few . minutes. It was. stated by an official of the Department that there was always a certain amount of gas leakage underground, and that the foggy weather had tended to prevent it from escaping easily.
