TARANAKI FARMERS' MEAT COMPANY. BANK'S OFFER TO SHAREHOLDERS. Notice to those concerned has been issued by the receiver for the debenture holders of the Taranaki Farmers' Meat Co., Ltd. (in liquidation), that the Bunk of New Zealand is making ox gratia a certain concession to those holdors of preference shares who are placed on tho settled list of contributories, subject to .certain conditions, Preference shareholders whose names are not now on the list may share in the concession by definitely agreeing "with the liquidator on or before June. ii4th that their names shall be I laced on it. It is stated by the receiver that, in the case of those who elect to await the decision of the present legal proceedings, tho' bank, in the eTent of the proceedings being unsuccessful from the shareholders' point of view, cannot be expected to make the concession which is now offered. The position is set out as follows in a circular issued to the shareholders by the receiver:— "The Bank of New Zauland holds security over the unpaid capital due on the preference shares, and is entitled to requiro paymont of the wliolo of the call of £3 per share now made by' tho liquidator in respect ol' such shares.

"I am roqueeted to advise you personally, however, that the directors and genoral manager- .of tho- bank are very desirous lo bhow the shareholders who are prepared to meet their responsibilities aB much consideration os pusaiblo. With this in vlev,\ and in order to expedite tho completion of tho liquidation of the company's affairs, they desire me to inform you that —notwithstanding the heavy losses which have already been made by tho bank in connexion with this company and written off, and the further loss which this concession will involve—tho bank will ex gratia pay the sum of 25s per share to those contributories—l. Who on or before July 24th, 1925,- pay up the arrears (if any) of calls made by tho company's uueciuisi and i!. Who on or before that date either pay in full to the liquidator tho amount of tho call now made by him, or arrange to his satisfaction for the payment of such call, and punctually carry out such arrangement. "This sum of 25s per share will be paid by the bank to each contributory on receipt by me, as receiver for the bank, from the liquidator of the moneys payable by each contributory in respect of calls already mado and unpaid and the liquidator's call, and will bo purely a voluntary payment on tho part of the bank. "The effect of this offer is that although each contributory who accepts it will pay up £3 (the amount of the-liquidator's call) in respect of each preference share held by him, he will receive back from the bank the'sum of 2os per share for each £3 of the present call so paid."
