WORK IN FAR EAST AND INDIA.
An interesting adrlroaa cn the successful and encouraging work among lepera in tho East was given by Mr Yv. H. P. Anderson, tho London general secretary of the Mission to Lepers, in tho 1.51.0.A. lasu night. There waa a. fair attendance. _ "There are between two and Ulrec million lepers in tlie world to-day," - Anderson in his opening remarks, J'r Anderson went ou to say that tha worx of the Mission to Lepera waa to care for thosa unfortunate pcoplo who wero suffering fioro tlio dread disease. Of all the natives who Went into th& Mission's homes in tho Kast, Gq per cent, of them eventually became Christians. Mc Anderson described the work done in India. Tho position in tho Far Knst was similar. 11l China there wero hundreds of lepers and go <1 work was beins accomplished for them. It was boned to build more homes for lepers in that nation. In Purulia, India, there were convalescent homes • for lepers. So great had been tho work there that GOO people wero on tho read to recovsj-y in tli2 convalescent homes.
