A trerv cnjovable dance was held in the TafTanu Hall on. Friday evening, in aid of the St. Paul's Bazaar Fund. All districts were well represented. A guessing competition, which caused much amusement, was won by Mr Larcombe. and the nrize was presented by the Rev. Mr Wilson, On behalf of the Brsaar Committee the Rev. Mr Wilson presented Mr J. Heinzmann with a pipe and case as a token of appreciation of his kindness in acting as musician for the dances. The "lucky spot wr.lt*;" was won by the Misses M. and K. Kim her. Mr J. Watson made an efficient M.C, and at the conclusion -of the dance thanked all those who had helped to make the dance so successful, especially Mr J. Heinzmann, Miss Watson, and Mr F. Meyerhoff, who played tho extras.

The monthly meeting of the Women's Progressive Club (Governor's Bay) was held on Saturday afternoon. There \vp.s a good attendance of members. Mrs Fred Small intimated that the bathing shed was now in position and in good order. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Messrs A. and F. Small, R. Froser, Aliek Harris, C. E. "Radcliffs., and W. Harris for their kind assistanoe in erecting the sheel and effecting repairs. A similar compliment was paid to the anonymous giver of a number of plaquettes eirees pendents, all of which had been sold and) the money added to the club funds. The meeting was then declared open to the public and a silver . collection taken. Mrs Dean, of the Home Economics Association, Christchurch, gave an interesting address «ind demonstration on mat-making and answered a number of practical questions put hy the audience. After refreshments, Mrs Small sang, Mr Horace Crow and Mr Frank Newstead gave selections on the clarinet and violin respectively, and Missi Welch, recited a. number of. humorous pieces, all the items being well received. Mrs Pairman proposed a vote of thanks to Mrs Dec.n, Mrs Greig, and the performers, which was carried by acclamation. , A community sing .and the National Anthem closed the proceedings.
