SYDNEY, June 22,
At the Darlinghiirst sessions, Terence O'Connor, 26, was sentenced to three years' imprisonment oil a charge of theft.
The police stated that O'Connor was an escapee of Wellington gaol, 'but although the New Zealand authorities desired his deportation, they were not prepared to pay for his extradition.
A London message states that at a Zionist reception at Brighton, Mr Bernhard Baron, who is known as the Brighton millionaire, and who has given £250,000 to charity since last October, presented a cheque for £IO,OOO for the Jewish University at Jerusalem.
