BOWLING.
OPAWA CLUB. The annual meeting of tho Opawa Bowling Club was held on Satuiaay evening, when tho president, Mr A. E. Talbot, presided over a good attendance of members. In moving the adoption of the annual report, the president congratulated the members on the splendid position of the c!ub, there being a record number cf members during the past year, the green being in exceptionally good condition arid all the club competitions were • very keenly contested and some very fine play witnessed in many of the games. ' Tho uianks of the club' we're accorded to tbo ladies, -who during the past season, .had.' provided and ■ dispensed afternoon tea. The balance-sheet showed the club to be in an excellent financial position, £IOO in special donations from members having been paid off tho bank overdraft, which now stands at £B9, this being the only Jiability and the assets being valued at £5060. The ground superintendents, Messrs.Steans and Mums', were congratulated on the state of the green, and it was decided to send a letter of anpreciation and congratulation to Mr Coffey on the manner in which ho had performed his duties as gicenkeeper. Tho election of officers resulted as 'follows:—President, Mr Prisk; vice-presidents, Messrs Archbold and Gwatkin: secretary, Mr Wi'kinson; treasurer, Mr Hillary; green -ivoerintendents, Messrs Steans and Mnnns; Selection Committee, Messrs Archbold, RolUnson end "Wilkinson; General Committee, Messrs Evans, Tanner, Weakly,- Blackwell and Vcgel; Finance Committee, Messrs Bruce, Steans and Hillary; dclegato to Centre. Mr V. Penberthy. It was' decided to recommend to tlio Centra that the play during the coming season should be iriendly games arranged by the. Centre. The ontgoing president, Mr TalDot, presented the prizes won during the year as follows:—Champion singles, >\ Steans; champion doubles, P. Steins and "K . Haigh; champion rink, AVilkins:n, Cragg, Brown and West; runner-up champion singles, 1. -J Wal'is; junior rinks, Munns, Sutton, Worsley and Tanner; handicap singles, Vinsen; handicap doubles, Hillary and Good; progressive games, Lucas, Wrfght, Hillary, Kevs, Tanner, Bonningtcn, Archbo.d.
