GUN CLUBS.

CHRISTCHURCH. On Saturday tho Christchurch Gun Club held a number gf competitions -under very favourablo weather conditions. Tho fuse event was a Gimcrack Handicap at seven sparrows. Each competitor started from 19 yards and was penalised'one yard for each kill and conceded one yard for each. miss. Tho birds were fast, and although the special conditions made the shooting difficult some excellent scores were made. Nineteen competed, and tho following arc tho leading scores:— ' , Total. R. Turner were left in at the seventh round. Hero the sunplv of birds ran out, and in the toss of a coin, A. ,N. Turner secured tho trophy and C. Jamieson tho money. A combined clay bird shooting competition was held at Alford Forest on Saturday, between the members of Alford Forest, ilayfield and Metlrven Gun Clubs. There was a large attendance of members from the three clubs present, as well as a good sprinkling of ' visitors. Shooting conditions were ideal there being an absence of wind with beautifullv- .sunny. weather... .The .first match ■was a twelve bird one, in which there wero fourteen competitors,-all on the 16 yards mark. The winner, who proved to be W.
