Mouat replied on their behalf, and was presented with a travelling rug. Sunshine and Sain. For the week ending Sunday the rainfall at Hokitika was-44 points, and the sunshine recorded 37 hours 24 minutes. Golf. The Novice' Medal Competition for June,'held by the Hokitika Ladies' Go.f Club, resulted in the following securing the best .scores:—Miss K. Coles 1)1 (hep. 17)', 77; Mrs Diedricks, 96, 17, 79; ' Mrs Mott'ram, 116, 30, 86.. The bogey competition for June for the Bears Bowl resulted as follows:—Miss King, 1 up; Mrs Irwin, 1 down; Mrs Butler, S down. Obituary. The death is reported from Westport Of Mr James Cronin, an inmate c\ the O'Connor Home, at the age of 87 years.
