THROUGH EXPRESSES.

THE NEW TIME-TABLE. From next Monday the restricted time-table of through expresses from Christchurch to Invercargill and vice versa will come into operation. On account of the disappointing traffic returns, the Railway Department has decided to cut out the through expresses on Wednesdays and Fridays, but the usual • service will be maintained on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Thus the effect of the cut will not* be felt until Wednesday, July Ist, when the through trains both from Christchurch and Invercargill will cease running. Briefly, the new time-table-will be the same as that adopted during last winter, with the exception that an additional through service will be provided on Mondays.
