_ The practical side of a boy's education as a farmer receives keen attention at .the Feilding Agricultural High cJohool The school owns a small flock of sheep, and the boys, under a capable instructor, do all the work in connexion with' these sheep' as it would he 'done on- a well-conducted farm. La.st week a reporter had the pleasure of seeing the boys at work erutelling tho sheeji, with, machines, in Messrs Levin and Co.'s shearing shed at Feilding, and the lads displayed the keenest. interest- in the work, which they did with credit to their instructor and themselves.
A seventeen pound Atlantic salmon was recently handled during .stripping; operations at Lake Te Anau. _ As far as >t is known, this is the heaviest fish ot this species to l>e captured in this vicinity. The previous heaviest fish recorded turned the scale at about fourteen pounds.
