RECOMMENDATIONS

LONDON, Juno 13. The Entomological Coufercnco concluded to-<day.
It was resolved, firstly, that tho guaranteed revenue to tho Imperial Bureau, which is a department of tho Colonial Office, should bo £13,000 annually, of which £11,700 should ho contributed by tho Dominions and Colonics.
Secondly, that the Bufc-au should arrange for the exportation to- the Dominions and Colonies of benevolent parasites at an estimated cost of £ll4O annually. Thirdly, that a senior officer of tho Bureau should yi;-it the Dominions and Colonies and consult entomologists.
The chairman pointed out that whereas the United States Bpent £250,000 on entomological research, Britain, with her world-wide Dominions, was spending only £13,000. Tho South African delegate, Mr Lonnsbury, appealed to Australia to search for a parasite to destroy tho goniptirus scatelatus, which was playing havoc '> with African eucalypta, though its ravages in Australia were negligible.
