SCOTTISH SOCIETY.
The monthly Ceilidh of the Scottish Society was held on Thursday evening.- Chief John Sinclair Chisholni presiding, supported by his chieftains, Messrs McClatehy, Dick and "WiUcn... - Piper PowJer opeueel with a. selection on the Great Highland War Pipe. The Chief extended a cordial welcome to the largo audience of members and tneir families and friends, and many recent arirvals from the Hamelatd. .five new members wore elected and one nomination for membership was received. During the evening presentations were made- to two ci tho oldest members of the Society—-I'afct Chieftains Auck Erasj/ and S. I). Oilxay—who received tho Society's <rold medal, tiiey having been two of the founders of the society and having rendered continuous services during their term of cffi.ee. A clock was presented to Mr Peter Donaldson on tho cvo oi his marriage and in recognition, of services rendered. Wilson; duet by the Misees Pcarcc; instrumental trio by Messrs Wcodvrard; viclin bolo, Messrs Meadows and Stringer; recitations, Miss Pearco and Mr Blackwood; selections by Society Pipe Bind; iiing, Miss Ko.sc Andersion; scaunn triubliais Miss Eil<M?n Henry; gillir calum, Miss Bella Peddie; hornpipe, Mis 3 1). Brace's pumls; international reel, M:s?cs Peddie, Port, Dent and Gimbleii; iriab. reel by MU.S D. Bvucc's pupils, an| reels by Socieiy's juveniles. The accompanists were Mrs E. A. Smith, Misses Mcßntncy and McClatehy.
