DISPOSAL OF SAWDUST. (special to "the THESS.") GEEYMOUTH. June IS. A deputation composed of Messrs W. Boyd. Y. Willoughby, and E. Wells, representing tiio sawmillers of the Hokitika district, left this morning for Wellington, where they will interview the Prime Minister with regard to the proposed prohibition of the use by sawmillers of the Hokitika River as a means for disposing of sawdust. Personal. The Rev. J. P. Dyer, who was recently appointed Vicar of Anmri, will arrive in Hecfton this week and will conduct the evening servico at St. Stephen's Church on Sunday. Dr. J. F. C. Moore, medical superintendent of the Grey Eivcr Hospital, is suffering from a slight indisposition. Mr and Mrs F. G. Wade, of Cashmere Hills, left on their return to Christchurch this morning. Mrs Juno Moore Avery, an old resident of the Eeefton district, died there yesterday at the age of SO years. She is survived by a family of six daughters and two sons. Mr Menzics (Mayor of Westport) has been appointed to represent the Westport Borough Council on the deputation to the Government with regard to the Coastal road. Mr and Mrs J. Demmick are to bo tendered a complimentary social by the residents of Koitcraugi in appreciation of their 35 years' service in charge of tiio local post office. Mr G. Mabin, of the Bank of NewSouth Wales, Hokitika, has .been transferred to Wellington. Mr T. Spruce, of Dunollic, left this morning on a holiday visit to Australia. At the fortnightly meeting of the Westport Borough Council three mouths' notice of resignation was received from the engineer, Mr H. R. Young. He offered to act as consulting engineer at £ls per month. The letter was referred to the General Purposes Committee.
Mr and Mrs J. E. Lciteh returned from G'hristchurch this afternoon. •
Mr A. A. Adams, president of the West Coast Rugby Union, returned from Christehurch by to-day's express, Mr Hugh McAvoy, late mine manager at Stockton and Seddonville, has returned to Westport' after spending a holidav in Australia.
At St. Stephen's Church, Reefton, the marring© was. solemnised of Myrtle, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Gate, of Broadwav, to Norman, third son of ■Mr J. Dick, also of Eocfton. The Rev. •J. W-. Bloyce officiated. The Misses, Alva.Cate and Audrey Dick were tho bridesmaids, and Mr Leslie Walker was best man. The happy couple arc spending their honeymoon in Greymouth and Hokitika. • Grey Power Board. ' Mr J. Lythgoe-, engineer to the Greymouth Power Board, addressed the Finance Committee of the Borough Council this evening on the Board's policy wjtlr, regard to the supply of power for tlie town.
