CORRESPONDENCE.
TRAMWAY FARES AND LOANING MONEY.
TO THE EMTOB 0? "IHE rBESS/' Sir—As a passenger frequently -using tho tram, I ask the reason why fares should be raised if they are paying in tho way they arc, and tho management i 3 able to hoard up money, and lend it out. It has just romc under tho r.otico of passengers that they arc lending out money in largo sums as in the case of tho town of Pandora, to which £BOOO at 5J per cent, interest for 20 years has been offered. IP tho Board has such a large storo of money attheir command, why raise the fares? —Yours, etc., J. C. McHAPDIE.
