PAPERS MUTILATED.
PARLIAMENTARY ROOM CLOSED. \<j (sracuL to "m rusa.") WELLINGTON, June 16. 'i Recess privilege holders of tho Gen-' V oral Assembly library hare recently been wondering why the illustrated papers have disappeared from th©,. newspaper room, xhe reason is that some recess visitors have been guuty ' or' thelt. This is certainly not a coittplinient to the members of tho Legto- , iature who hare sponsored them. The fact of the matter is that for a long time past illustrated and other - papers have been mutilated, and in t Bomo cases have disappeared altogether. Some of the privilege holdersnave a particular fancy for pictures, and in many instances these have been cut out' of illustrated journals, when, the attendant's back has been turned, or when he lias been absent from tho room. As a result of this breach of trust, the illustrated papers have now been removed into another room to which only members of the Legislature can gain admittance.
