A novel method of raising strawberries was described the other day by Mr G. Mclndoe, Poverty Bay Orchard Inspector (states an exchange). Mr Mclndoe said that whera people had but little ground in which to cultivate strawberries, the fruit could be successfully grown in a large cask, the sides of which had been pierced. The cask should be filled with good, free, black soil, and augur holes made about six inches opart. A plant can be grown in each hole; while others can be grown at the top of the cask.
