LONG TACK SAM.
VAUDEVILLE AT THEATRE ROYAL TO-NIGHT. To-night at tie Theatre Eoyal a. vaudeville season will be inaugurated by Long Tack Sam and an entirely new company selected in China, and supported by a combination of acts of international reputation from the Sydney and Melbourne theatres of J. C. "Williamson, Ltd. Long Tack Sam on his last visit to Australia certainly created a- sensation among theatre-goers, and on this visit critics in Sydney and Melbourne say the show is even better than the first. hong Tack Sam is assisted in hi 3 act by Madame and Mi6ses Poldi and Mina Long. The turn includes juggling, balancing 1 , magic, Chinese clown juggling, contortionists, water spinning and magic. The comnany of vaudeville acts supporting Long Tack Sam includes from the Palace Theatre, Sew York, Moran and Wiser, billed «is the hilarious hat soinners in a skit "All in Fun." Direct from Franco are the musical acrobatic clowns, tho Kovello Bros., a most original turn, who present a. wonderful representation of a. woodland courtship between two birds. A London critic, speaking of the dancers with tho company, says, '-Addison and Mitrcnga are back again, which is no hardship, because I don't think anyone could ever tire of watching the perfect art and grace of Gertrude Mitrenga, who is so ably aided by Errol Addison. The Eoyal Illusionist, Chris Charlton, who presents "Deceptions of 1925," is assisted in his act by Dorothy Browne. A London singer appearing with the company is Arthur Mayes, a basso contante. Mr A. G. Frost will, aB usual, conduct the orchestra. The company have just concluded a very successful season in Auckland. Tho "Herald critic wrote: "There was a crowded audience and every item was enthusiastically applauded. It is a great show. Long Tack Sam and tho J. C. Williamson artists supporting him present the best vaudeville show for years." ... The Christehurch visit of the company will extend over seven nights, and matinees will be given on Saturday and "Wednesday, June 20th and 24th. The box plans for tie season art* rapidly filling at The Bristol, and indicate a- prosperous visit for tho company to Christehurch. Day sale tickets are obtainable at the Theatre Royal Confoctionory.
