A formal statement by President Calico has been given to the Press by Foreign Secretary Seen?, doaling with a statement by the United States Secretary of State (Mr Kellogg) respecting the relations between the Hutted States and Mexico.
a Mr Kejlogg declared that the Goveminent of Mexico was on trial before the world, and that the United States would continue to support tho Mexican Government only bo long as it protected the lives of citizens of the United States and complied with international obligations. j
To this the Mexican statement replies: If tho Government of Mexico, as affirmed, is now on its trial before the world, such is tho case with tho United States Government na well as those of other countries, Bat if it I* to he understood that Mexico ic on trial in tho gulio of a defendant, ay Government absolutely rejoatf with energy moh an Imputation, whi?h in essence would mean only an insult.
