SCULLING.
HANNAN NOT RECEIVED STAKE MONEY. (by cable—press association—copyright.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received June 15th, 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 15. Another hitch has occurred in connexion with the' Goodsell-Hannan sculling race. ,Noon to-day was fixed in. the signed articles for Hannan to pay the second instalment of the 6take money of £3OO, which he is getting from, his Auckland backera. When the time was due Hannan stated that tho- money had not so, far arrived. After a consultation with Major Goodsell's backers the latter decided not ta claim forfeiture of the £IOO which Hannan had almdy deposited, as they wore entitled to under the articles, but to grant the New 2ealander an extension of time until noon on Wednesday in which to deposit the £3OO. If the money is not deposited then there is every probability of the match being declared off.
Hnnnun states that he cabled last week to his Auckland backers, but they may have misßod the mail, in which event it.will be necessary to cable the money if the match is not to be cancelled.
