Thirteen thousand striking miners of the British Empire Steel Corporation are in complete control throtjghout the colliery districts at Capo Breton. The strike, which was declared six weeks ago, has increased daily in bitterness. On Thursday, in order to prevent themselves from being overpowered, the police fired on a mob, killing one and wounding several miners. Since then the police have been powerless, and looting and incendiarism have continued. A strong military force is being concentrated in the disturbed area. STEEL STORES LOOTED, i (Received Juno loth, 12.5 a.m.) SYDNEY i(Nova Scotia), June 13; < Three stores owned by the British Empire Steel Corporation, in the viciivity of Glace Bay, were looted and burned by, the striking miners on Saturday night, and the Sydney Mine's store was denuded. The Glace Bay police were powerless to interfere. The military are remaining at Sydney. .
